But the FPH Expansion is currently out of print - i.e. we've sold all of our coppies! We may be able to make one more limited run of the expansion. However, if you're thinking of buying the base game and waiting for the expansion, we have good news. The Expanded Edition should be available shortly. The expanded edition is a base game with expansion in one box. The expansion cards have updated art. More informayion on pricing to follow soon. |

Wow, in one week we'll be at one of the largest game con's in existence. I mean, that we know of. Ok, sure it's possible that the Jall Riin have some massive planet wide game convention that everybody must attend. That'd be just like them ... |

We will be making an appearance at KeyCon Science Fiction convention this weekend. Look for us either in the gaming space, stealing tables to show people Galactic Adventures or playing Portable Galactic Empire. Alternatively, we'll be loafing in hospitality. Come hang out with us at our "home" convention. |

The engineering post is a critical one on any space ship. Not only is this guy tasked with making sure everything works, he needs to be able to find new and innovative ways to get it working after you broke it facing down the enchandi. Add him to the landing party or risk being unable to use the transmat to get back. And when the wormhole generator goes down, he's your guy.
You may want to keep an eye on your supply of sandwiches however. |

The science officer is a key player in many missions. His in depth knowledge of physics, chemistry, biology and geology (not to mention history, archaeology, politics, phrenology, and about a dozen other 'ologies) makes him a valuable source of knowledge on a mission. Add him to a landing party and you'll find your options opening up. He's also very popular with the ladies. No, nobody knows why.
The science officer may be drawn from the operations pool of officers. A command officer may act as a science officer in a pinch, but it's really not the same. |

In our upcoming game, Galactic Adventures, you take on the role of a spaceship captain in one of the major fleets of Portable Galactic Adventures. As we lead up to release, I thought I would share some thoughts on the officers and roles shown in the game. First up, Captain.
The captain leads his (or her) (or it's) intrepid crew through the galaxy. Singularly responsible for the actions of his (or her) (or it's) vessel, the captain guides the ship, performing duties as diplomat, war hero and occasionally janitor. In the game the captain represnets you, and for this initial release will be human, jaal-riin, brerasan or hrgashi. On a smaller vessel like a frigate or destroyer, the captain will have the ability - in fact may be required - to fill in one of the other roles if no permanent officer is assigned. |

So about a year after we published, a group of guys sat down and did a fairly in-depth look at the basic version of PGE.
It's a bit long (over 20 minutes) but worth it, and totally safe for work - assuming your work is ok with you listening to podcasts at work.
